How do you feel about your current job? You happy with it or you hate it?

You may not be working on your dream job right now, but is your current job giving you any chance of pursuing your dream job in the future?

Are you advancing? Are you improving and learning?

Questions aside, these are the 5 signs that give you the obvious hints that you should quit your job right away.

1. You are not happy

If you in serious need of your current job in order to put food on your table, then skip over this point. If you are not, then read on. Seriously, you spend most of your time in a day working as most people work 8-10 hours per day, and you want to spend these hours unhappily?

Your current job may put you into a stressful situation and constantly saddens you deep down. You may like this job initially but if it is making you unhappy most of the time now, do yourself a favor and quit right now.

2. No longer have passion

You were once enthusiastic and happy to work over time for the job even without extra pay, but now you just want to leave on time and will be delighted if you can leave earlier.

This is a sign that you have already lost both passion and patience in your job. You are disgusted and bored by the daily operations that just keep on repeating.

Your job is no longer challenging and you don’t have the urge to excel any more. If you work without passion, you are troubling yourself as well as your boss.

3. Your side income is more than your day job

It is not uncommon that most Malaysians have more than 1 job. Most people earn side income from different sources. Some may work a night shift part time, some are freelance promoters, while some do their own ecommerce business.

While it started off as a hobby or an action to earn more income, eventually these jobs may possess greater potential and yield more money than your day job would.

If you also prefer to work on your side income instead of your day job, you should get rid of your day job now and leap over.

4. Your talents are wasted

If you can do what your upper management or seniors can do, but instead you are being assigned to a low level operational jobs that you always hated, then your talents are gone to waste.

Sometimes you applied for a job that you are overqualified for, but you don’t mind it at first because you thought you will have your promotion or advancement after some time.

If the wait was too long and your skills aren’t being tapped, it is time to put an end to this wait.

5. Terrible boss and culture

We all hate bosses that micro manage, bully, arrogant and release their temper on their staffs. These poor leaders are affecting the work productivity and efficiency of everyone, including you and your company.

You should understand that you are not tied by this kind of terrible boss forever, you always have a choice to “terminate” them.

Speak of the culture, if you could not fit in to the culture of your surrounding after 3 months or so, you should probably find a new work environment that shares you values and personality.

No one can force you to do what you don’t want to do. Ultimately, if you have decided to quit your job, make it quick and painless.
