


When Kawai Piano, a globally recognised Japanese piano brand known for its heritage and craftsmanship, set out to refine their digital presence, they needed a website that could go beyond product display to communicate their legacy, philosophy, and role in music education.
At the time, the challenge was to maintain their platform on Shopify while repositioning the site as a brand-led experience rather than a conventional e-commerce store. The website needed to support storytelling, educational content, and dealership engagement, without compromising its premium identity.
We began by understanding Kawai’s positioning as a heritage-driven yet forward-looking brand. This informed a design direction that subtly integrates Japanese-inspired visual elements, while featuring international pianists to reflect its global presence. We restructured the website to bring clarity and cohesion to its content, and reimagined the About page as a narrative journey, transforming it from static information into a flowing timeline that highlights the brand’s evolution from its origins to the modern era.
The final website delivers a refined and structured experience that balances heritage with usability. More than just an informational platform, it strengthens Kawai Piano’s brand presence, allowing users to better appreciate its legacy while supporting its role across retail, education, and dealership networks.
