iii) Combine numbers, small and big caps as well as symbols in your password. Make it at least 15 characters in total, or 8-12 characters if you really can’t memorize it.
iv) Don’t use the same password for every account. In the case your password get cracked, everything is now at risk.
v) Despite using a relatively strong password, you can still get hack if any of your devices are injected by virus or malware. So do a scan and cleanup regularly on all your devices.
vi) If you are accessing your account at a public computer, clear the browser cache, cookies and history once you’re done. Try to combine keyboard and on-screen keyboard while inputting your password as well.
2. Encrypt Your Website with SSL
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is commonly used among eCommerce websites to encrypt a shopper’s private & personal information during the checkout process.
This website security technology is being there for years and it’s also constantly improving to protect against newer abuses and hacking techniques.
However, as new eCommerce stores are popping up rapidly, many of these new website owners are not taking this extra precautions to protect their user’s data. This can really put their customers data at risk during any kind of data submission.

Using an offsite Website Firewall & Anti Virus can be really helpful when you don’t have someone who has the expertise to take care of both your website and server at all time. Having this extra layer of protection can assist you in monitoring your website consistently for any attacks, hacks and malware.
DDoS, which is the most common attack on the internet, is an attempt to make a website unavailable by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources. This attack can bring down your website and make it inaccessible in a matter of minutes. By having a website firewall as mentioned, you can prevent this attack and make sure you don’t lose out your business profit by having an inaccessible website, especially when it comes to eCommerce.
