Social Media Marketing
This is mention first in Internet Marketing due to its rising of popularity and efficiency.
Every business should engage in social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and more.
Engaging in social media not only can help you to build a social presence, but it also can be acted as a channel to interact with your customers and increase customers’ loyalty.
In addition, Google Plus, which obviously owned by Google, may have a significant advantage in Search Ranking as compared to other social media.
There’s a lot of marketing activities you can do on social media. For instance, you can hold contests on Facebook, announcing your latest promotions on Twitter and the list goes on.
This is a cheaper way of marketing as compare to what you will do in offline.
Forum Posting
Posting in forum may be a “last-gen” thing, but the effect is still there.
What are the differences between posting in forum and social media you may ask? While people use social media daily to acquire for more casual news and information, what people search and post in forum is more niche down and specific.
So, if you are selling digital products, you may want to involve in a digital products discussion forum.
However, this doesn’t mean that you can spam as much as you want for your product or service offering in there. Being a helpful forumer is the best way to build up your business reputation and credibility.
When you show you have great knowledge and experience in the industry you are in, people will automatically come to you when they search for the product or service in your industry.
Most forums are getting inactive these days, but there are still a handful of forums which are still active in Malaysia like Lowyat.net, CARI, JBTalks and Wangcyber.
Find the topic or thread that you are interested or relevant to your product and start posting informative stuffs!
Build Good Relationship with Bloggers
Bloggers are one of the strongest purchase decision influencers. As bloggers often make review or testimonial about a product or service they bought, their readers (which may be your potential customers) will read, probably believe and remember whatever the bloggers have written.
Imagine a blogger who is having 5,000 readers per month. A single blog post about your product can easily help you to generate a whopping 5,000 leads, and this is totally free, brilliant isn’t it?
There are few ways to keep a good relationship with bloggers.
Comment on their blog post often, send emails to compliment about their posts or even send free samples of your products for them to try, they might write a review for you for free! Don’t overdo it though, you may look like a stalker and will freak them out.
As bloggers are influencers, what if they write a negative review about your service or product?
First, find out what’s the problem with the blogger is having with your business. Then, negotiate a best way to solve the problem between you and the blogger, remember to keep it low.
Blog post will stay on the Internet forever as long as no one removes the blog, so you don’t want to leave a black spot on your business in the Internet permanently!
Email Marketing
Most people use email daily, especially corporate workers. Be it personal matter or work, email is still one of the most widely used tool over the Internet.
Unfortunately, this also brings another big problem over the Internet – SPAM. Email users are dealing with spam almost every day, so getting their attention to your email is one of the most important factor to consider.
Keep these rules in mind when writing or designing your emails:
Rule 1 – Never Spam (do not send unsolicited emails or too frequent)
Rule 2 – Keep it Short & Simple (straight to the point, do not talk rubbish in your email, people have no time to read a terribly long email)
Rule 3 – Clear picture and message (do not insert a picture that won’t load, or message that’s irrelevant or offensive).
Rule 4 – Provide the option to unsubscribe (if people do not want to receive your email any more, let them have the freedom to do so)
Always use a good email marketing system to manage your emails sending, in this way you can keep track of who actually opens your emails, which emails are no longer valid and who opt out from your emails.
