For example if your website is talking about gaming peripherals, in your articles you can link to the website of companies that sell gaming peripherals like Razer, which you are an affiliate for them and when your visitor purchase through your affiliate link, you earn money.

Intermediary platform can be anything. You can offer a job board service like Job Street, car dealing service like Carlist.my, or a platform for people to sell their stuffs like Mudah.my.
